Temporary Fort Robinson Stores Clerk — Full Time and Part Time
Work at a place where history is alive around every corner! The Fort Robinson Museum, administered by the Nebraska State Historical Society, is seeking passionate candidates to serve as a Temporary Store Clerk. Both the full and part-time positions are projected to last from May 2017 to September 2017.
Under general supervision, make sales and take admissions through a point of sale (POS) system, credit card machine and/or related equipment for transactions and inventory. The right candidate will be knowledgeable in inventory control via POS and be able to prepare daily sales reports, greet visitors, help with inventory, perform routine housekeeping functions, and provide effective educational information that leads to a good understanding of the Nebraska history presented. Temporary lodging will be available to the successfully hired employee.
Experience in public contact, customer service, visual merchandising, sales, or another closely related field is required. Experience balancing financials, using computer software for marketing and inventory, computer and internet experience for general office use is preferred.
The Nebraska State Historical Society is a statewide educational organization that connects people to the past through the Nebraska History Museum, library and research center, conservation facility, seven historic sites, and the state archeology and historic preservation offices. The NSHS preserves and interprets our state’s history to educate citizens and build a better future for all Nebraskans.
Both the full-time and part-time positions pay $10.65/hour. Temporary employees must meet certain eligibility rules to take advantage of health benefits.
