Nebraska Hall of Fame: Nathan Roscoe Pound

 

Educator, Administrator & Politician 

Nathan Roscoe Pound (1870 - 1964) was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

He taught law at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and served as dean of the law school for four years. 

Pound served on the Nebraska Supreme Court as Commissioner of Appeals from 1901 - 1903 and taught at other universities before returning to Harvard as a law professor in 1910. He later became Dean of Harvard Law in 1916 until retiring in 1936. 

He was also a notable botanist and pioneer ecologist. 

Nathan Pound was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1975-76.
