BACKGROUND NOTE

Miss Flora Bullock was a graduate of the University of Nebraska, class of 1897. She taught for years in the state school of the blind in Nebraska City, and at the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture extension service. A member of the Nebraska Writers’ Guild, she was a 66 year member of the Palladian Society. Miss Bullock was also one of the charter members of the Lincoln Unitarian Church.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of two manuscript boxes containing correspondence, 1913-1962, manuscripts, printed matter, an autograph book, an address book, miscellaneous materials and sheet music. The bulk of this collection consists of manuscripts, poems, and sheet music written by Miss Bullock.

About History Nebraska
History Nebraska was founded in 1878 as the Nebraska State Historical Society by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed History Nebraska from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Interim Director and CEO Jill Dolberg. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for History Nebraska.
