Batik Map
Lilian Ibser created this amazing batik map of Nebraska while employed with the Public Works of Art Program (PWAP). The program employed thirty-two artists in Nebraska during the Great Depression. We absolutely love how the rising sun embraces Nebraska.
Eclipse Glasses
In 2017 people flocked to Nebraska to witness a total eclipse. These commemorative eclipse glasses promoted watching the eclipse from Scotts Bluff National Monument and Chimney Rock.
High Tops
These high tops were beaded by Jody Comes in 1992. The bright yellow seed beads make these shoes particularly striking.
Fleischmann Painting
This painting by Nebraska illustrator Glen Fleischmann accompanied a story in the Saturday Evening Post in 1948. Fleischmann beautifully portrayed both sunshine and shadow.
Nebraska Farm Painting
Gladys Lux painted this work titled Nebraska Farm in 1933. She was employed with the Public Works of Art Program (PWAP), a project of the Civil Works Administration.
Terri Lee Doll
Terri Lee is ready for some sunshine! Terri Lee dolls were made right here in Nebraska until 1952. Her adorable and prolific wardrobe included every type of outfit you can imagine, including swimwear.
Red Cloud Quilt
When Red Cloud was inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame in 2001, his great-great granddaughter, Lula Red Cloud, made this beautiful morning star quilt for the unveiling of his bust.
Funk Hybrid Corn Label
The graphics on this brochure from the J.C. Robinson Seed Company scream sunshine! This Waterloo, Nebraska company was established in 1888. Their advertisements often feature golden tones that echo the color of Nebraska corn and Nebraska sunshine.
