SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection contains various items compiled by Henry W. Hamilton of Marshall, Missouri. Included in the collection is a physical description of the site of Orchard Ranch, the ranch of Charles P. Jordan, on the Rosebud Reservation, South Dakota. This was noted on a 1963 trip taken by Hamilton and Jordan’s son William. Also included is a list of employees who worked for Charles Jordan at his ranch and store during the 1890s, and a description of the 1892 fire at Charles Jordan’s trading post as described by William Jordan.
