SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of an undated typescript written by Lois D. Gerard of Fairbury, Nebraska. The typescript is entitled, "On Visiting Capitol Beach." The story describes a visit to the Capitol Beach Amusement Park in Lincoln, Nebraska, through the viewpoint of a young woman accompanied by her boyfriend. Various attractions, events, prices, etc. are described. Also included is a letter from the Nebraska State Journal to Lois Gerard declining the story for publication. The letter is dated May 30, 1930 and is signed by Frank L. Williams, managing editor.
