SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of various papers relating to Fred Liebers including a copy of a diary kept while he was serving in World War I. The entries date from June 4, 1918 to June 9, 1919 and relate accounts of his trip to and from Europe. Liebers also tells of military camp life in France and Germany and his working with truck convoys. He relates his impressions of people, the countryside, and the war. Also included is a letter from Liebers to H.V. Pusch (Detroit, Michigan) dated July 2, 1931. The letter discusses a reunion of the 89th Division, 314^th Motor Transport Corps, and includes names of men in the Company. Other materials in the collection include crop reports for Liebers’ farm in Kearney County, Nebraska. The reports date from 1920-1927 and show the amounts of acres for each crop; the bushel yield from each crop; and the cash rent paid to Anna Liebers.
