Friederich Wilhelm Wolf was born in Germany on December 8, 1830. He married Anna Sophia Cleophas in 1853, and the couple immigrated to the United States in 1858. By 1860, they were living in Wisconsin. In 1870, the couple was living in Iowa. The Wolfs moved to Nebraska in 1882 and settled in Madison County. Anna Sophia Wolfe died in 1891, and in 1892, Friederich married Henrietta (Trumbauer) Michael. By 1900, Friederich and Henrietta had moved to Elmwood, Cass County, Nebraska. Friederich Wilhelm Wolf died on September 14, 1914. He is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Madison County, Nebraska, next to his first wife. Henrietta Wolf died on January 12, 1924. She is buried in Oak Wood Cemetery at Ackley, Iowa, next to her first husband, Henry Michael.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one box containing twenty-seven (27) diaries and account books of Friederich Wilhelm Wolf. The majority of the entries are in German, and they date from 1874 to 1913. Also included in the collection are biographies of Friederich Wilhelm Wolf, his son, Friederich Wilhelm Wolf, Jr., daughter-in-law Caroline Stracke Wolf, and grandson Otto Wilhelm Wolf.
