SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of one folder containing a letter and two reminiscences written by Tula Pearl (Deeder) Heffelbower in 1958.  The letter gives background information about David Heffelbower (Tula’s father-in-law).  The first reminiscence is entitled, “The Buffalo Hunt – 1871.”  It describes David Heffelbower going on one of the first buffalo hunts in southern Nebraska in 1871.  The second reminiscence, entitled “The Blizzard of 1888,” recounts her parents’ experience attending the East Lynn School near Clay Center, Nebraska, during the blizzard on January 12, 1888.
