BACKGROUND NOTE
Born July 21, 1919 in Lincoln, Nebraska, John C. DePutron was the son of Daniel and Helen (Barstow) DePutron. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and was working at the Eastman Kodak store when he registered for military service on October 16, 1940. He served with the 120th Infantry Division. After the war he returned to Lincoln and married Mary Ralston. DePutron worked as a photographer and was the photography manager at Miller and Paine department store. John C. Deputron died on May 12, 1995 and is buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of one box containing papers relating to John C. DePutron’s military service during World War II. Included are military papers, manuals and newspapers. The collection dates from 1944-1951.
