BACKGROUND NOTE

Born on May 21, 1875, Laura Belle Cauger graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1890.  She married Joseph H. Toulouse in 1901.  The couple lived in Des Moines, Iowa, before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Joseph died in 1938.  Laura Belle (Cauger) Toulouse died on October 25, 1940.  She and her husband are buried in Fairview Memorial Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of one folder containing several items relating to Laura Belle Cauger and Lincoln High School.  Included is an autograph book kept by Laura Belle.  The bulk of the entries are from friends and classmates and date from 1890 to 1896.  Also included are two letters, mostly relating to a high school class reunion and to the deaths of various classmates (1928), and a photocopy of a newspaper clipping about their class reunion.
