BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Born in Fountain County, Indiana, on January 12, 1844, Mark Lane Milford married Clara Jones on June 21, 1871 in Hocking, Ohio.  Milford became a Presbyterian minister, serving congregations in Ohio before moving to Nebraska.  By 1885 he was serving as minister in Bennet, Lancaster County, Nebraska, and the surrounding area.  Around 1900 the Milford family moved back to Ohio.  Between 1910 and 1920 the family moved to Portland, Oregon.  Rev. Mark Lane Milford died at the home of his daughter in Sherwood, Oregon, on December 30, 1932.  He is buried at River View Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.

The collection consists of two volumes containing sermons and sermon notes by Mark Lane Milford.  The sermons are written in shorthand.  The volumes are undated.
