BACKGROUND NOTE

Born at Spring Ranch, Nebraska, on June 30, 1878, William Clark Bloom grew up on the family farm near Fort McPherson and began teaching in 1898.  He married Eatha Linda Folden on July 3, 1901.  Bloom received his higher education at several institutions, including the Fremont Normal School and Business Institute, Kearney Normal School, Grand Island Business College and the University of Nebraska.  He taught at several schools and served as a superintendent of schools for over forty years.  William C. Bloom died on November 16, 1963.  He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington, Nebraska.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of one item, an assignment book from the Fremont Normal School and Business Institute of Fremont, Nebraska, for the “Outline of Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene of the Human Body,” by H.M. Eaton, 1897.  William C. Bloom used the book as a student.  The book contains Bloom’s notations and sketches.
