SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of one item, a letter dated December 2, 1911, from William H. Miller to C.S. Paine at the Nebraska State Historical Society.  In the letter Miller describes his experiences on a steamboat trip up the Missouri River on the "Asa Wilgus" and returning on the "Gus O'Lynn."  A brief account of time spent in Nebraska City is also included.  Miller mentions the Peake Family Bell Ringers traveling on the steamboat as well.  They were a popular musical group traveling the country at the time.  Miller also mentions his mother, Flora (Hopkins) Miller, who was a writer in Cincinnati, Ohio.
