Brown Bag Lecture: When We Went to the Moon

Thursday, July 18, 2019 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Nebraska History Museum

"The Eagle Has Landed" With those words, humankind had set foot on another astronomical body, forever free of the boundaries of our terrestrial world.

On that July evening, Nebraskans joined people across the globe to watch the enthralling images of astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin exploring the moon a quarter of a million miles away.

And back in Nebraska? Retrace the journey of Apollo 11 through the lens of life in the Cornhusker state in 1969. Learn about the interesting connections and contributions Nebraskans made to the Apollo program, then and now, as NASA continues to explore the wonders of the universe.

Join us in as Julie Anne Allen, Educator and NASA Ambassador, presents the July Brown Bag Lecture.

The lecture will also be uploaded on the History Nebraska YouTube channel afterward.
