Brown Bag Lecture - Sandhills Archeology
During the past three years, History Nebraska staff and University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have inspected 8,500 acres of the Nebraska Sand Hills and have found over 200 new archeological sites. The work has been along Birdwood Creek, and the Snake, Dismal and Middle Loup rivers. Learn about these surveys and excavations at a Plains Apache village that dates to the 1600s with Nebraska State Archeologist Rob Bozell. These projects are shedding valuable light on the mysterious expanses of the Sand Hills.
