Most of our collections sit outside of public view in special storage spaces. On October 10, we’re throwing open the doors for a series of archives tours.
Go behind the scenes with tours of the archives and reference room. Tables set up throughout the buildings will highlight rarely seen items like early maps of Nebraska, historic mugshots from the Omaha Police Court, and original glass plate negatives from the legendary Solomon Butcher Collection.
There will also be demonstrations of the process for digitizing audiovisual materials. The tour schedule is:
- Reference Room tours starting at 4:30 pm and running every half hour
- Tour of the archives starting at 4:15 pm and running every half hour.
There will also be archivist Q&A and refreshments available.
