BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Elmer LeRoy Bunger was born at Humboldt, Nebraska, on April 11, 1890. During World War I he served as a sergeant in the 89th Division, 314th Motor Supply Train, Co. E. Bunger died on November 20, 1969. He is buried next to his wife, Ella, in the Upland Cemetery, Franklin County, Nebraska.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of one folder of documents relating to Elmer LeRoy Bunger's military service during World War I. Included are Bunger's notice to appear for physical examination; a certificate appointing him sergeant of Co. E, 314th Supply Train; discharge paperwork; his individual pay record book; a typed circular from Walter C. Cole to the Officers and Men of the 314th Motor Supply Train thanking them for their service and efforts to help end the war; and an address list of members of the 314th Motor Supply Train (presumably just Co. E).
