BACKGROUND NOTE

Articles of Incorporation for Noxall Manufacturing Company, Seward, Nebraska, were filed with the Nebraska Secretary of State on June 18, 1908. The company manufactured and sold seed and grain separators and cleaners. Principal partners in the business were Thomas J. Hatfield, Frederick N. Wullenwaber and Daniel J. Hartrum.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of one box of business records relating to the Noxall Manufacturing Company of Seward, Nebraska. The materials date from ca. 1908 to 1939 and include articles of incorporation, minutes of meetings, correspondence, patent and product information, as well as invoices, receipts and other financial records.

History Nebraska was founded in 1878 as the Nebraska State Historical Society by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed History Nebraska from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Interim Director and CEO Jill Dolberg. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for History Nebraska.
