BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE



Census records show that Osman F. Ingraham was born in Illinois in 1891. Online resources indicate that he grew up in Oklahoma. His father may have been Rev. M.F. Ingraham. Osman F. Ingraham was a resident of Creek County, Oklahoma, when World War I broke out. His draft registration card lists his occupation as musician. By 1930 Ingraham and his wife resided in Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he was employed as a music teacher. He died in Yountville, California, in July of 1971.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection consists of one series of manuscript material designated as 1) Musical Score, 1968. Arranged by composer Osman F. Ingraham, this handwritten score was composed “with the intention of giving a musical portrayal of the conflict between the Sioux and Pawnee Indians,” which occurred August 5, 1873. The cover of the piece is hand illustrated.

They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for History Nebraska.
