Today’s Throwback Thursday photograph takes us out west to Perkins County, Nebraska. Several men work on a Burlington and Missouri Railroad water tower in about 1910. Two of the men are suspended from the side of the tower by ropes.
Are you ready for the 4th of July? The folks in today’s Throwback Thursday photograph certainly are prepared. A man and a large group of young girls ride in a new touring car decked out in American flags and patriotic bunting. They are parked in front of the F.J. O’Hara Buick Dealership in Spalding, Nebraska in about 1915. The group was likely participating in a local parade.
Gone fishing! Three young boys fish the pond at Hanscom Park in Omaha in today’s Throwback Thursday photo. If the string of fish the youngest boy holds, the pint-sized fishermen appear to be quite successful their simple lines and homemade pole. Omaha photographer Nathaniel Dewell captured this sweet scene on June 20, 1928.
