BACKGROUND NOTE
The Czechoslovansky Cemetery of Ravenna, Nebraska, was established in the spring of 1887 when the Bohemian Cemetery Lodge purchased an acre of land in Section 28, Township 13, Sherman County, Nebraska, from Josef and Vernoica Horak. The cemetery became known locally as the Horak Cemetery. The last recorded burial occurred in 1941.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one roll of microfilm containing the records of the Czechoslovansky (Bohemian) Cemetery of Ravenna, Nebraska, 1887-1941. Filmed first are photocopies of the original cemetery records (in Czech) and a small volume of supplemental notes (in Czech). Following these is a handwritten English translation of the cemetery records complied by Edith Fiala Abraham of Ravenna, Nebraska, 1976. The records include the minutes of the Bohemian Cemetery Lodge, list of burials, and plats of the cemetery.
Note: This collection was loaned for microfilming by Edith Fiala Abraham in 1976. The NSHS does not hold the original records.
