30th Anniversary Celebration of Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center

Join us for a special celebration in Omaha.

Join the Nebraska State Historical Society and the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation as we celebrate 30 years of service at the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center.

NSHS Curators will be on hand to share more about their work at the Society, including the work happening right now to develop new core exhibits at the Nebraska History Museum. Plus, you will see film cleaning, splicing, and digitization demos; view historic photographs; test your archeology knowledge; decode handwritten manuscripts; and participate in even more activities. Our Education team will provide guided tours of the conservation center and introduce you to the conservators who work at the Ford Center.

Don’t just attend the event – become part of the story! Visit the Ford Center Photo Spot to put on a lab coat, pick up a brush, and pose with a painting to create a shareable photo to remember the event.

You will also be able to view the Gerald R. Ford Exhibit, chronicling the life of the only president born in Nebraska, and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments provided by the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation.

Join us as we celebrate 30 years of the invaluable conservation work of the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center.
Please RSVP by emailing Leslie Fattig of the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation at lfattig@nshsf.org.

About NSHS

The Nebraska State Historical Society was founded in 1878 by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed NSHS from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Director Daryl Bohac. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for NSHS.
