Board of Trustees
Who We Are
History Nebraska is an independent Nebraska state agency that is directly governed by a fifteen-member board of trustees.
History Nebraska is also a membership organization. Members elect twelve trustees, four from each of the state’s three congressional districts, to staggered three-year terms. Three trustees are appointed by the Governor, one from each congressional district. Nominations are made by a board-appointed nominating committee.
Interested parties who wish to apply for the election process may fill out an application listed in the Resources box to the right. A completed application and Candidate Petition form are required to be considered for the ballot. Fully completed applications and petition forms are due August 13th, 2023.
