Join us at the Nebraska History Museum for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, October 31st, with free admission from 9 AM to 4 PM! We’ll have activities for everyone in the family to celebrate the holiday! Our partner organizations will be posted throughout the museum, the Nebraska Commission on Latino Americans, Linked2Literacy, and the LUX Center for the Arts from 9 AM to 12 PM.
- Play a Round of Nebraska-Themed Lotería—a traditional Mexican game, similar to bingo, but with a Nebraska twist.
- Scavenger Hunt—Explore the stories and history of Nebraska’s Hispanic and Latino communities through objects in our exhibits.
- Make Your Own Button/Sticker—Honor the loved ones you are remembering by creating a button or sticker.
- Matching Activity—Day of the Dead is celebrated in tons of different ways across the world! Can you match the tradition to the country it is from?
The free admission for this event is funded by support from the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation. So don’t forget to stop by the thank-you card table and write a note for them!
