BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Born in Germany on December 11, 1855, Christian G. Nootz immigrated to the United States in 1880. He married Alvina Franciska Steinhausen in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 11, 1880. The couple would have ten children. Christian Nootz farmed and raised cattle and hogs between Malcolm and Raymond in Lancaster County, Nebraska. Alvina died June 2, 1908, and is buried Oak Creek Cemetery at Raymond, Nebraska. Christian got remarried sometime between 1910 and 1920. His second wife’s name in the 1920 Census is listed as Johanna. Christian G. Nootz died on May 5, 1928, and is buried next to his first wife in Oak Creek Cemetery at Raymond, Nebraska.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of one folder containing seven small notebooks kept by Christian G. Nootz. The notebooks contain cattle and hog breeding records dating from 1899 to 1919.
