BACKGROUND NOTE
Born at La Grange, North Carolina, on November 20, 1927, Clarence Oscar Dail grew up in North Carolina. Sometime in the 1940s, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he married Helen Gorr in 1950. Clarence served in the Korean War and then returned to Omaha, where he worked as a salesman for Photostat Corporation. Clarence Oscar Dail died in Omaha on March 2, 2000.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one folder containing photocopies of items relating to Clarence Dail’s military service during the Korean War. The collection includes a “Souvenir Edition” of the Meigs Phone, a mimeographed publication from the USNS Meigs dated December 22, 1951. Also included are photocopies of two certificates, an announcement to the family about Dail’s homecoming, and a program from the“Korean War Veteran Recognition Ceremony” held in Omaha on August 8, 2000.
