BACKGROUND NOTE
In the spring of 1883 a Congregational Sunday School was held in Cowles, Nebraska. In November of that year the church was organized and held its first regular meeting in the schoolhouse on December 28. A parsonage was built shortly thereafter, and a church building was dedicated on June 20, 1886. As a result of declining membership and the discontinuation of services, the congregation was dissolved in 1961.

This collection of the records of Cowles, Nebraska, Congregational Church consists of three volumes on one reel of microfilm. The volumes contain registers of members as well as minutes of meetings dating from 1883-1961.
