BACKGROUND NOTE
The Cornhusker State Games, Nebraska’s Amateur Sports Festival, were organized in 1985. The first Games attracted more than 4000 athletes who competed in 19 sports. By 1988, the Cornhusker State Games included nearly 15,000 competitors in 28 sport categories. The Nebraska Sports Council sanctions, organizes, and operates the Games to promote amateur sports in the state. The Games are held annually in July.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one box of publicity materials dating from 1985-1991. Included are posters, entry handbooks, and souvenir programs for the Cornhusker State Games.
