SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of seven letters written by Edward Lennan (Hastings, Nebraska) to Curtis H. Page (Chester, New Hampshire) and Page’s guardian family, the Hiddens. The letters date from 1882-1885 and in them Lennan describes the improvements made to his land, as well as to land that was willed to Curtis Page. Lennan also writes about Friendville, Nebraska (now known as Friend), and changes in the community. In some of the letters written to the Hidden family, Lennan discusses paying rent, possible sale of the land, etc.
