HISTORICAL NOTE
The First Congregational Church of Plainview was organized in April of 1903. Services were held in the Christian Science Hall until a church was built in 1904. Ten years later a parsonage was constructed. In the mid-1940s this congregation was yoked with the one at Brunswick. In April of 1961 the congregation voted for the merger with the Evangelical and Reformed Churches to form the United Church of Christ.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one reel of microfilm containing five volumes of records of the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ of Plainview, Nebraska. These volumes date from 1903-1984 and contain the registers of members, baptisms, marriages, and burials, together with the minutes of meetings. The records were loaned for microfilming in November of 1984.
