BACKGROUND NOTE
Born at Columbus, Nebraska, on June 25, 1892, Frederique Stenger married Oscar Baker in 1915. The couple divorced in the 1920s, and Frederique then married Fred Straley in 1929. They lived in Columbus until the 1950s when they moved to Kansas. Frederique (Stenger) Straley died on July 2, 1986.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one box containing a journal and correspondence written by Frederique Stenger during a tour of Europe in 1913. Also included are itineraries of the tour, as well as a few letters and post cards dated before and after the tour. The original journal is restricted for preservation. Researchers are asked to use the photocopies provided in the box.
