Local Chautauqua societies or circles are an outgrowth of the Chautauqua movement in the late 19th and early 20th century. Dedicated to religious, moral and educational improvement, chautauqua societies still remain active in many communities.

This collection consists of one box of manuscript material arranged in two series: (1) Minutes of the Hellenic Chautauqua Circle, 1919-1967; and (2) Printed matter, 1960-1970.
This collection relates to the activities of the Hellenic Chautauqua Circle of Lincoln, Nebraska, 1919-1970. The bulk of the collection consists of minutes of the Circle.
