BACKGROUND NOTE
This congregation developed from a bible school held in the area beginning in the early 1950s. The church was organized in 1956 and purchased a quonset hut in which to hold services. Financial difficulties caused the congregation to disband in August of 1960.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection of the records of Hope Lutheran Church (Spalding, Neb.) consists of three volumes on one reel of microfilm. The records date from 1955-1960 and include a record book and two minute books. The first volume, the record book, contains the register of members, communions, baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and funerals.
Note: These records were filmed by the American Lutheran Church Archives, Dubuque, Iowa, and this copy of the film was received by the Historical Society in July of 1983. It is not available for Interlibrary Loan. The records of this church appear at the beginning of a reel which also contains the records of St. Paul Lutheran Church (Deshler, Neb.) and Immanuel Lutheran Church (Cowles, Neb.).
