This congregation developed from a bible school held in the area beginning in the early 1950s. The church was organized in 1956 and purchased a quonset hut in which to hold services. Financial difficulties caused the congregation to disband in August of 1960.

This collection of the records of Hope Lutheran Church (Spalding, Neb.) consists of three volumes on one reel of microfilm. The records date from 1955-1960 and include a record book and two minute books. Note: These records were filmed by the American Lutheran Church Archives, Dubuque, Iowa, and this copy of the film was received by the Historical Society in July of 1983. About History Nebraska
History Nebraska was founded in 1878 as the Nebraska State Historical Society by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed History Nebraska from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Interim Director and CEO Jill Dolberg. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for History Nebraska.
