BACKGROUND NOTE
Born in Lindsay, Nebraska in 1896, Ira D. Beynon graduated from Wymore High School in 1913. He served in the army during World War I. Beynon received his law degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1919 and then practiced law in Kearney, Nebraska. He ran a real estate holding company and was a member of the board of directors of Lincoln Federal Savings and Loan Association. Beynon also managed the political campaign activities of Nebraska Governor Dwight P. Griswold. Ira D. Beynon died in North Beach, Florida on December 24, 1989. He was survived by his wife, Esther, as well as one daughter and one son. Ira D. Beynon is buried in Bethel Cemetery at Wymore, Nebraska.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The material in this collection relates primarily to the political campaign activities of Dwight P. Griswold between 1932 and 1953. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence and financial information. Also included are lists of supporters, addresses and press releases, form letters, clippings, pamphlets and other printed materials, and one folder miscellany.
