This collection consists of correspondence to, and an account book of, Irene F. Usher dating from ca. 1890-1900. A resident of Rhode Island and then New York, Usher invested in land in Nebraska, Kansas and South Dakota. The correspondence is from the investment banking company of Burnham, Trevett & Mattis of Champaign, Illinois, Beatrice, Nebraska, and Huron, South Dakota, and discusses various loans and investments in land in Greeley, Harlan, and Custer Counties in Nebraska.
