BACKGROUND NOTE
Jefferson H. Broady served as a judge of the First Judicial District in Nebraska from 1884-1892 and practiced law in Lincoln after he retired from the bench. He was an active member of the Democratic party and a friend of William Jennings Bryan.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection is arranged into six series. Series 1 contains general correspondence, 1908. Series 2 is comprised of two account books, 1861, 1870, while Series 3 is a brief book, and Series 4 contains two note books on American law. A series of scrapbooks and miscellaneous items complete the collection. The material in this collection relates to Nebraska politics in the 1880s.
