SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of two letters and two short manuscript drafts relating to the Campbell family settling in Nebraska in the 1860s. The two letters from 1908 are written to C.S. Paine of the Nebraska State Historical Society from Peter Campbell and John R. Campbell. The manuscript drafts describe the family’s journey from Scotland, a brief stay in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and homesteading in Hall County, Nebraska. Included in the manuscripts is information on an Indian raid in which members of the Campbell family were abducted.
