SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of correspondence (photocopies and transcripts only) to Florinda Schaeffer, sister of Harriet Leeper, from John and Harriet Leeper, dating from ca. 1874-1904. During this time period, the Leepers lived in Beaver Valley, Boone County; Fremont, Dodge County; Hammond, Boone County; and Oakdale, Antelope County. The Leepers write about their struggles homesteading, financial woes, health problems, and grasshopper infestations. One letter describes living conditions in their sod house.
