BACKGROUND NOTE
The Nebraska Prison Association (also known as the Prison Aid Association) was formed in September of 1901. Prominent founders of the organization included Rev. George W. Martin, Hon. M.B. Reese, and Lincoln Chief of Police, H.V. Hoagland. Membership in the organization was made up of private citizens interested in assisting discharged convicts leaving the Nebraska State Penitentiary.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of one volume, the treasurer’s book of the Nebraska Prison Association. The volume contains financial records of the Nebraska Prison Association dating from 1902-1922.
