BACKGROUND NOTE
Dr. O.C. Reynolds was a prominent Lincoln physician and surgeon who trained at Louisville, Kentucky Medical College and St. Louis University. Dr. Reynolds practiced medicine in Seward, Nebraska, for sixteen years with the medical firm, Reynolds and Potter. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, around 1895. At the time of his death he was president of the medical staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, which was Lincoln’s only general hospital at the time. Dr. Otera C. Reynolds died at his home in Lincoln on May 16, 1911. He is buried in Wyuka Cemetery.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one box of records relating to firm of Reynolds and Potter of Seward, Nebraska. Included in the collection are a financial ledger, a letter copy book, and a folder of loose receipts and miscellany. The records mainly deal with their pharmaceutical houses and to individuals with reference to the settlement of a medical claim against the Burlington and Missouri Railroad Company. The account book illustrates some charges made for medical care at that time. The records date from 1890 to 1909.
