SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The bulk of this collection relates to Silas M. Stafford’s role in organizing the Knox and Cedar County chapters of the Nebraska Farmers’ Alliance. It contains correspondence, Alliance records, and miscellany. Included in the correspondence are Stafford’s commission as a Nebraska Farmers’ Alliance organizer, instructions to organizers from the central office, and information about Alliance business. Minutes, accounts, and financial notes and an Alliance emblem are also present in the collection. Some items are only available as photocopies; the originals are not in the Nebraska State Historical Society collections.
