DESCRIPTION
This collection consists of a scrapbook relating to the South Salt Creek Community Organization (SSCCO) of Lincoln, Nebraska. The scrapbook dates from 1978 and relates to a neighborhood renewal project sponsored by the SSCCO. With the help of volunteers from the American Jewish Society for Service (AJSS), the SSCCO was able to paint and fix-up fifteen (15) homes in the South Salt Creek neighborhood. Materials in the scrapbook include background information about the project, snapshots of volunteers working on project homes, newspaper clippings, press releases, etc. The snapshots include images of Lincoln Mayor, Helen Boosalis visiting the various project homes.
