SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection relates to the Civilian Conservation Corps, a program which employed young men in projects developing parks, forests, and agricultural resources, and its work in Nebraska. The manuscript portion of the collection consists of photocopies of published articles, newspaper clippings, and correspondence related to Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps in Nebraska and elsewhere, 1930s-1980s. This material includes information about CCC projects and programs; why the CCC was developed; how it operated; and lists of Nebraska camps and camp officers.
Note: The photo component of this collection consists of approximately 80 photographic prints and negatives relating to the United States Civilian Conservation Corps work in Nebraska, 1933-1996, and undated, mostly 1930s. Included are photographs of group and individual CCC workers, camps, and projects.
