BACKGROUND NOTE
On December 20, 1916, it was agreed among a group of nine men, meeting at Western in Saline County, to organize a bank. Articles of incorporation were drawn up and presented to the State Banking Board, and approval was given for the bank to transact business on or after March 1, 1917. On March 1, 1926, the bank was taken over by the State Bank Examiner.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one volume containing the minutes of the meetings of the board of directors of the Western State Bank, 1916-1926.
