BACKGROUND NOTE
William James Lamb was born January 12, 1867, in Des Moines County, Iowa. In 1870 his family moved to Gage County, Nebraska, and settled seven miles west of Beatrice. Lamb married Susie Thompson on December 24, 1890. They had two children, Ray and Irene. Mr. Lamb was a farmer and a carpenter. He attended the First Christian Church in Beatrice and was a Republican. In 1941 Lamb left the farm and lived with his daughter, Irene, in Beatrice. Mr. Lamb died on July 3, 1954.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one reel of microfilm containing two daily journals kept by W.J. Lamb dealing with day-to-day events occurring at his farm and the surrounding area in Gage County. One area of special interest is a series of entries describing a trip Lamb took to Colorado from September 4-13, 1905. These records were loaned for microfilming in November of 1976.
