Last month, as part of my update, I remarked on the strength of the relationship with the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation and the frequent meetings with their Executive Director, Leslie Fattig. While I mentioned some of the support we have received, I am providing more detail in this month’s report, as it reflects on the relationship. One of the significant shifts that occurred was when Leslie approached me in late May or early June about the possibility of carrying forward funds that had not been requested if we had projects that could benefit from two years of funding. That led to several requests being approved for carryover, including funds for art conservation and the potential repairs to the Ethel S. and Christopher J. Abbott Visitors Center at Chimney Rock.
The list below provides a roll-up of the funding we received in calendar year 2025. Needless to say, the support from the Foundation is, and will continue to be, critical to our success. Please consider taking a moment to share a message of gratitude to the Foundation at 402-435-3535 or lfattig@nshsf.org. You can learn more about the Foundation at www.nshsf.org.
