Archeology Month Hands-On History Sept 30th

Create your own pottery puzzle!

Every Saturday in September between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., we will be celebrating Nebraska Archeology Month with unique Hands-On History programs. These programs provide visitors of all ages the opportunity to learn more about archeology and its importance to history. Each Saturday will feature something new, so be sure to visit every weekend!

On our last day of Archeology Month, join us to create your own pottery puzzle! Help the museum’s Education team discover new things about pieces of pottery we found in the museum. What type of pottery will you find?

About NSHS

The Nebraska State Historical Society was founded in 1878 by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed NSHS from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Director Daryl Bohac. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for NSHS.
