On June 21st, in conjunction with Fort Market Day at Fort Robinson State Park, the Nebraska State Historical Society will be hosting Fort Robinson Quartermaster Day with activities for the whole family!
Come compete in games throughout the day with or against your family and friends. Try your hand at horseshoes at 1 PM, giant tug of war at 2 pm, and wheelbarrow races at 3 pm. All activities will take place on the New Parade grounds in front of the Fort Robinson History Center.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to learn more about Fort Robinson! Tour Guide Randy Kane will be giving Old Parade Ground Talks about Fort Robinson from 9 am to 12 pm, and Kathy Smith will give talks in the afternoon at the Blacksmith and Harness shops about her father, who worked at Fort Robinson as a soldier and cowboy during WWII. At 6 pm, Randy Kane will present a talk at the Fort Robinson History Center about the Indian Wars in Northwest Nebraska. All talks are free to the public.
Individuals and families can call the History Center to be added to the list for participation before or on the morning of June 21st. Please call (308) 665-2919 to get on the list. Come join the fun at Fort Robinson!
