Join us at Fort Robinson on August 16th at 5 p.m. (MDT) when Rob Ravndal from Southeast Community College tells of a little-known partnership between Nebraska ranchers and the US Army. Back when the Fort was the army’s main “remount depot,” the army provided high-quality stallions to breed with Nebraska mares. Ravndal researched “the ranchers who brought this program to life” and wrote an article for the Spring 2024 issue of Nebraska History Magazine. Come to the History Center and help us celebrate 150 years at the Fort.
